Affiliate Marketing for Beginners 2021
And why You might want to take another look at the Power and Promise of Marketing Online.
Well, I think to answer that question we should start from the beginning. So, let’s be clear, The word Marketing is like an umbrella it incorporates so much. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), they monitor market trends, create advertising campaigns, develop pricing strategies and targeting strategies based on demographic data and work with the company to develop more awareness of what they offer.
For our purposes today we will be talking more about online sales. When I was a youngster (yes, the rumors are true, I was young once) companies with large budgets sold products on, TV/Radio/Newspapers/Billboard ads, and in the Mail.
Those were the mediums used to sell products to people in the marketplace. And they still are and are highly effective. So, let's look at what I’m going to call the “Sales Flow" from all of those mediums combined, from TV/Radio/Newspapers and Billboard ads. From before there was an internet.
Step 1. Someone sees or hears an advertisement.
Step 2. they contact the company, by visiting their establishment, calling on the phone, or by using the postal service.
Step 3. It’s At that point they make their buying decision. Either Yay or Nay.
Well, the "sales flow" online is still the same. With a few small, differences without distinctions. Let us examine them now.

Below is another picture of how the old and the new have really stayed the same.

The web page incorporates all the sales strategies, TV/Radio/Newspapers/Billboard ads, and most times all of them on one page. The ‘squeeze page’ which is also called the “capture page” is akin to a customer walking into a store or calling on the phone where information about that potential customer is stored in a database for future contact whether they purchase or not. . And the sales page is akin to that customer finding a salesperson on the phone or in the store to sit down with and discuss the benefits of owning the said product, then deciding to purchase or not.
Now having said all of that, how does any of that have any bearing on why you or I should be interested in Marketing online?
Well, an interesting thing has occurred in online marketing. It’s called “Affiliate Marketing”. Just for a moment imagine the size of the world wide web. (kinda hard to do huh?) the number that is thrown around a lot is around 4.66 Billion People. And large companies want access to them all. (Well the ones that can afford their products.) Now the cost for them to access all those applicable markets individually would be astronomical, to say the least. And it's at this point that Affiliate Marketing enters the picture.
Affiliate Marketers are like commissioned salespeople. They drive traffic (potential customers) to a website and if one or all those customers purchases the product the Affiliate gets paid, on every sale. There are thousands of Affiliate Marketers who earn over six figures yearly. And thousands more who have moved on to develop their own products and are earning millions of dollars a year. I guess you could say Affiliate Marketers are like middlemen and women who just connect people with the products they are already looking for.
Now before you ‘pooh-pooh’ the middleman strategy, let me tell you a story. Let's just look at two companies that have taken the middleman strategy and become billion-dollar companies. The largest taxicab company in the world is called Uber, and guess what, it owns no taxis! Uber just connects people who want a ride to other people who will drive them there. How is that for a middleman?
The second company that has taken this strategy to create a billion-dollar company, is a company called Airbnb. It's listed as the biggest hotel chain in the world, (and yep you got it) they do not own any hotels!
Both companies and their founders realized the most important thing about the internet. And that is that the internet is great for connecting people to other people, an if that’s true, (I think we would all agree that it is) then it would also be just as effective connecting those same people to services, and products, that they are looking for in their daily lives.
Now I would not say that Airbnb and Uber are affiliate marketing companies because they are far from that. But I think you can see the similarities. Both simply connect people to a product or experience, that neither one of them own.
And that’s exactly what Affiliate marketers do! It's an opportunity for the little guy to play the game 'On a Grand scale'. Welcome to "A level playing field"!
Now if any of this sounds interesting to you if you could see yourself connecting people to products and services that you do not have to manage yourself. No customer complaints, no products to return, no business management headaches. Or if you have an existing business and you see the benefits of marketing them online. Then I have a suggestion.
I'm with a company called Legendary Marketer. Their founder and CEO’s named Dave Sharp. And for the price of a trip to Starbucks, you can find out if online marketing is right for you. It's called the 15 Day Business Challenge.
During those 15 days, you will be introduced to the behind the scenes workings of Marketing online. Those 15 days are filled with unbelievably valuable information on the ‘how to’s’ of affiliate marketing with tips and tricks that have made him millions of dollars in the business. And yes he started his career as an affiliate marketer.
The information within the Challenge has got to be worth hundreds of dollars on its own. But here is the best part. The cost is all of 7 dollars… (Yes, I said 7 dollars.) For the price of a Big Mack at Mickey Ds, you can find out if marketing online is right for you. Also if your not satisfied with all the incredible information you can actually get your money back. So the truth is there is nothing to lose if you're not satisfied.
You know the direction and trajectory of our lives is usually determined by not the big steps we take but the little steps, those steps change our life's direction by subtle degrees that greatly affect the outcome of our final destination. For instance, going to college is a big step in a young person's life. But it’s the decision to go to college, which comes first, followed by the preparation beforehand that are the little steps that precede it. This could be one of those moments for you. It surely was for me!
I always like to say that finding great things in life, great opportunities great ideas, or a great relationship, is reserved for the seekers in life. Make no mistake if you are reading these words right now, then I’m certain you’re a seeker. And 7 dollars is an exceptionally low barrier to find out if you have in fact found what you are seeking.
